50 Shades of Great at Temple Newsam!

Photo Walkers aren’t afraid of a little bit of grey! We find inspiration round every corner, in every situation. That’s why the grey start to the first Photo Walk of 2017 didn’t dampen my spitis at all, I knew we were still in store for a creative and fun morning…

Kicking off this year’s Walking Photographer Tours programme at Temple Newsam, Leeds proved to be an inspired place to begin. It has everything you want for a Social… history, architecture, stunning views, ‘Capability Brown’ landscapes and a whole load of nature to boot!

The format of any Photo Walk Social is an informal walk in a inspiring location at a photographer’s pace. There’s no formal instruction, though Photo Walkers are welcome to ask questions and discuss ideas. This year for the Socials I’ve decided to introduce an optional theme for each walk. For Temple Newsam I chose the theme of ‘Details and Texture’. It seemed a really appropriate theme with such an abundant mix of both natural and man-made details to snap away at. From crumbling brick work to moss covered bark, I love the eclectic mix nature and man-made marks within this unique environment.

It was a stunning photo walk and I can’t wait for the next. You can view the full range of photo walks happening this year on the Photo Walk Tours page here. In the meantime here’s some pics from the walk…
