BNY Mellon Photo Walk Social: Manchester
Back in August I had the privilege of spending the day with the Manchester based BNY Mellon employees. Manchester is a great city for photo walks, with a wide variety of sights and scenes to draw inspiration from. The day was split up into several two hour photo walks, with a maximum number of ten participants in each group.
Manchester has a reputation for being a ‘rainy city’ and as I left the shelter of Manchester Piccadilly station and entered what felt like a monsoon, I was relieved that I had come prepared for rain!
To everyone’s surprise (and relief), as soon as we took our first steps on the first walk, the rain ceased and we even got some patches of sunshine! Amazingly, the rain held off until the very end of the last photo walk, which conveniently finished by a great pub called The Wharfe.
It was a thoroughly enjoyable day and everyone had a great time exploring Manchester with their camera’s, learning new photography skills and seeing their work’s surroundings in a new light.
Throughout each walk there were a number of prizes given out at different points to the people who responded best to the different themes explored during the walks. An overall prize for two people was to have their best photo printed, framed and hung in the Manchester BNY Mellon offices. The two photos were voted for by fellow employees on the company’s intranet.
Here’s some of the highlights from the walks, if you would like to know more about photo walk for your company or organisation please visit the Corporate & Business Group Photo Walks page or call 07828117810.
