Burley Festival Photo Walk
Anyone who follows the Walking Photographer FB page may have already seen some of the fun me and Alfie had during the Burley Summer Festival. For those that may have missed my overzealous social network bragging, our beloved rescue dog Alfie won Handsomest Dog and Best in Show at the Burley Festival Dog show!
The Burley Summer Festival is an annual event which lasts one week and hosts a vast array of events. From the Classic Car show to the Scarecrow trail, the festival provides something for everyone (including a one day beer festival and a pie making competition!).
Also included in this year’s eclectic mix of events was a Burley in Wharfedale Photo Walk, led by Burley’s very own Walking Photographer (me!). Held on the Friday before the close of this years festival, I was delighted to discover that the photo walk had been fully booked.
Despite a fifty, fifty weather forecast everyone turned up on time and we headed off in search of new and exciting compositions. The rain held off until the very last minute which was a great relief!
The photo walk addressed the ideas of composition and framing photographs and like all my workshops, this walk encouraged people to see things differently. Everyone seemed enjoy themselves, learn some new ideas and walk away with some great photos…
