Ilkley Moor Summer Social
Last month, we took an inspiring mid-week, evening photo walk around Ilkley Moor. The light and weather conditions were pretty much perfect!Starting at Cow and Calf Rocks we continued onto the moor and took in some of the stunning views on offer. We also spotted a couple of Kestrels hunting, some Red Grouse and admired several climber’s efforts to reach a peak in time for sunset.
We made it back to the car park just in time to see the sunset appear behind Cow and Calf rocks and silhouette those successful climbers who’d reached the summit just in time.
Most of the walkers then went on for a post-walk drink at the Cow and Calf pub where you can enjoy the comforts of a friendly pub while still enjoying the spectacular views over Ilkley. It was a fantastic photo walk social which will definitely be repeated next summer!
The next social is also going to be an evening photo walk. This time on the Chevin, offering equally spectacular views over lower Wharfedale. We’d love to see you there, for more information visit the Walking Photographer Social page here.
