Inspiring start to 2016

Inspiring start to 2016
Inspiring start to 2016

This weekend kicked off the 2016 programme of events for Walking Photographer Tours. It’s the most ambitious programme yet with more photo walk and photography workshops than ever before. As I’m sure many of you will know, the weather in Yorkshire has not been the most inspiring over the last few weeks. I can’t remember the last day we didn’t have rain! But I’m very much of the Scandanavian thinking. Where they so “There’s no such things as bad weather, just bad clothes” I say “There’s no such thing as bad weather, just lack of inspiration”. I hope my enthusiasm for getting out in all kinds of weather, along with my shared knowledge, will help people find inspiration whenever and wherever they find themselves out with a camera!

I knew the forecast wasn’t going to be great for first workshops of 2016, but I also knew whatever the weather, those who braved it, would have a great time, get some useful tips as well as some inspiring photos.

Breakfast Club Dawn Photo Walk:

The first workshop of 2016 was a dawn photo walk at Malham. Although the rising of the sun eluded us, the weather still made for some atmospheric shots and I find Malham simply stunning in all weather. The rain held off until our descent back into the village where our efforts where rewarded with a well earned cooked breakfast!

Photo Walk Social

The next day was the Walking Photographer Social in Ilkley. It was a great walk through some of the less well known areas of Ilkley such as Calvary near Middleton Lodge. We experienced every type of weather throughout walk including the snow left on the hills over night!
