Tired of Looking at the Same Old Walls? Lockdown 2021...

Rediscover Your Home From a New Perspective With Your Camera...

With another Lockdown now in force, I thought I'd share some ideas on keeping those all too familiar surroundings fresh and interesting....

Here's the Transcript from the video:

 Hello... i'm back!

Well firstly i think we should just stop there and go home because i'm not sure i'm ever going to beat an intro to a video rather that was just awesome uh so let's just stop let's stop the camera there but i i did want to get a video out uh because you know last week i was left left feeling really flat and a real struggle uh just with where we're at with everything and and this new lockdown that we find ourselves in and and i wanted to share a video that kind of uh reflected on that but but also moved on from that and and and pushed on through keeping creative and motivated with our cameras and you know in terms of so i'm going to pick up these themes like we did in the lockdown just before christmas i'm going to continue with the themes and we can continue exploring ideas with our cameras and sharing them with people and helping to spread a bit of motivation and a little bit of positivity that way and i think so when i was coming up this first uh first episode if you like um i thought what people had enough of oh that probably their homes because they were in their homes in the rock town before christmas they were in their homes during christmas and now they're in their homes a lot more after christmas so let's make that the theme um so that's what i've done but um what i did think is is um it's one of those things it's like when you're you're faced with something the more you own it the more you can uh create something positive from it and that's the idea behind this theme is is because there will be whatever home you live in uh there will be angles and perspectives that you haven't explored of your home and exploring it with your camera can really help you appreciate that and and enjoy it more and reimagine your home and see it in a new way so this morning i went out with a camera or stayed in with the camera and started photographing the kids from different perspectives and i chose the the washing machine so i put the camera in the washing machine and started photographing the kids as they were peering into that washing machine and there must be loads of other uh uh uh places that you could put a camera um could be cupboards it could be just looking downstairs through the stair rainings it could be anything it could be you know from the point of view of a favorite toy of a child and it doesn't have to be your kids or family uh it could be a pet like a cat or a dog it doesn't even have to be anything living it could be some flowers in a vase it could be a toy it could be a teddy bear anything that makes you smile really anything that brings a little bit of joy use that as your subject and then try and photograph it from a unique and original point of view in your home a new perspective uh and and and see how you get on with that uh other things you could do so uh the other idea i had was sort of about rearranging things like whether you've got a collection my wife brought me a really cool lego set that i built over christmas and so i just photographed that on top of the printer and you know it doesn't have to be toys it could be anything you like it could be cutlery it could be ceramics it could be you know just whatever it is you decide to photograph arrange it construct a composition with it and photograph it out of context from where you normally see it and and just going through those processes will help you sort of you know it will pass a lot of time in your house and it will just have you thinking more positively and and creatively around your home and before you know it it will be you know time for bed and and and you'll have more ideas for the following day so i hope that that's a good topic for you to explore i really look forward to seeing your interpretations of re-exploring your home you can share them as always on the walking photography group on facebook and you know i really look forward to sharing some of those photographs enjoy that and i look forward to seeing the photos
