Newbiggin and their connection to a pod of dolphins is a pretty recent discovery for me. I've only had a fleeting visit so far, but absolutely loved the location straight away!

This unique stretch of coast boasts sightings of not just one but several cetacean species: Harbour porpoise, White Beaked Dolphins and Bottle Nosed Dolphins, as well as seals and much more wildlife!

While I can't guarantee what we'll see and sightings can be very dependent on conditions. I've chosen a date that is based on optimum sightings from 2 years of sighting data! :D

Invite-Only Private Lesson Otters & Puffins...

Otter Family

This is an unplanned offering on account of having some very exciting and recent otter encounters.

A mother and two cubs that appear to be very active on a local stretch of water. Naturally, I can't offer any guarantees, but I will say they have been the most consistent otters I've experienced yet. As well as the otters we have a pair of Kingfisher that whizz up and down, occasionally stopping for a rest or fish and plenty of other wildlife to keep us entertained. Whether we get that magical otter encounter or not, I'll share some top fieldcraft tips for finding and photographing one of the UK's most exciting and elusive mammals!

Puffins, Puffins & Puffins...

Terrain: Clifftop paths, muddy and rough terrain
Duration: 3-4 hours approx

Skill Level: All abilities beginners to advanced
Location: North Yorkshire Coast
Date: May - July, various dates
Additional: Bring a friend free - Max Spaces 2
Cost: £135

For me, a Summer without seeing puffins is no summer at all. I love these charismatic, iconic birds of the British Summer coastline and I love seeing the excitement and joy they bring to others too!

There's also the chance of seeing peregrines, barn owls, hares and so much more. Private lessons give you the opportunity to find the hot spots of the moment and get expert guidance at photographing one of the country's top seabird metropolis. Last year even a black-browed albatross put in an appearance, true story!

Can I bring children?

From an early age, photography has played such a key role in my life. As part of my desire to champion photography to young people I offer free places for under 16s when accompanied by a paying adult

What if the weather forecast is bad?

You may be surprised just how many bad forecasts result in beautiful days - it happens a lot!

Walking Photography will always try and proceed with a planned photo walk. If extreme weather conditions or severe accessibility issues arise, then the walk date will rearranged for a convenient date.

What if the weather is bad?

It is surprisingly rare to have an event that is completely marred by the weather. With a deep to commitment to offering fun and enjoyable photo walks and workshops, if the event is judged to have been ruined by the weather participants will be given a 50% discount voucher off a future Photo Walk workshop up to the same value.

Can I bring my camera phone or tablet?

Yes! We welcome camera phone and tablet walkers on most photo walks. There are some events like Get a Grip Course and the Night Photo Walks where you require manual functions on your camera. Such events are clearly noted in the descriptions.

What is the accessibility like?
