Inspiring Photo Walks, by Invitation 

I'm excited to reveal the latest series of events for Secret Wanders with a camera. Limited numbers on Photo Walks at Special locations that aren't advertised or publicised anywhere else.    

5th April 2022, 6pm - 8pm (approx): Forgotten Moor @ Sundown, Hawksworth | £35 (4 places)

20th May 2022, 9.30am - 12.30pm (approx): Secret Dales, Middleham | £35 (4 places)

April-June 2022 (limited dates available): Private Lessons - Secrets of Spring | £135 - flat rate

  

The Forgotten Moor, Moorland Birds at Sundown

Terrain: ,Small, gentle ascents, rocky, muddy uneven paths and tracks

Distance: 2 miles

Skill Level: All abilities beginners to advanced - Longer lenses good for wildlife 

Location: Ribblehead Viaduct

Date: 5th April 2022, 6pm - 8pm (approx)

Additional: 4 spaces max

Cost: £35

 

This is one of the quieter yet liveliest spots for nature you'll find over Rombald's Moor and one of my faves. So much so, I'm almost reluctant to share it! :)

Golden Plover, Lapwing, Curlew, Red Grouse (of course), drumming Snipe and on occasion several species of owl can all be enjoyed here. Not to mention passers by like Wheatear and Ring Ouzel. Join a small group (4 max) for a relaxing and joyous wander. 

 

Middleham, Yorkshire Dales

Terrain: Rocky, muddy, uneven paths with some medium slopes & hills

Distance: 3-4 miles 

Skill Level: All abilities beginners to advanced 

Location: Middleham

Date: 20th May, 9.30am - 12.30pm


Cost: £35

One of the Dales' best-kept secrets. Stunning vistas over North Yorkshire, diverse scenery (from medieval castles to bubbling brooks) and abundant wildlife (nesting dippers, curlew, redstart and more!). Photo Walks really don't get much better.

Spring is one of the most frantic, dramatic and inspiring of seasons!  Whether you want to take better photos in a stunning bluebell woods, learn how to sensitively capture stunning wildlife behaviour, like otter or get a better travel photos, private lessons offer a great way to fast track your camera skills.

Can I bring children?

From an early age, photography has played such a key role in my life. As part of my desire to champion photography to young people I offer free places for under 16s when accompanied by a paying adult

What if the weather forecast is bad?

You may be surprised just how many bad forecasts result in beautiful days - it happens a lot!

Walking Photography will always try and proceed with a planned photo walk. If extreme weather conditions or severe accessibility issues arise, then the walk date will rearranged for a convenient date. 

What if the weather is bad? 

It is surprisingly rare to have an event that is completely marred by the weather. With a deep to commitment to offering fun and enjoyable photo walks and workshops, if the event is judged to have been ruined by the weather participants will be given a 50% discount voucher off a future Photo Walk workshop up to the same value. 

Can I bring my camera phone or tablet?

Yes! We welcome camera phone and tablet walkers on most photo walks. There are some events like Get a Grip Course and the Night Photo Walks where you require manual functions on your camera. Such events are clearly noted in the descriptions.

What is the accessibility like? 

Accessibility varies widely from event to event. Please get in touch with any accessibility questions.
